Forget exclusive islands and opulent hotels. White Desert’s first luxury camp in Antarctica tops the lot. Now you can explore Earth’s final frontier – in style and comfort. Guests fly into the camp’s base near the mountain ranges of Dronning Maud Land from Cape Town, South Africa, with all travel arrangements taken care of by White Desert.

At the camp, set atop a 150-foot ice cliff, you will be staying in
private African safari tents, with solar-powered heating. White Desert
tailors your polar adventures according to each individual, and their
aim is to let you “do as much or as little as you like”. So for the
adventurous souls, there’s a host of activities to pump up your
adrenalin in sub-zero temperatures.

Abseil over huge ice cliffs, go kite-skiing across the snow, trek
through surreally beautiful icescapes and caves or scale the “Wolf’s
Fang” peak. Each ten-day expedition is led by experienced guides such
as world-record Pole trekker Paul Landry and Patrick Woodhead.

For the
less adventurous, you can opt for scenic flights in a DC-3 turbo-prop to
visit magnificent mountains draped in snow. Spend the night in an igloo
or get acquainted with the natives – the Emperor penguins.
