Stars in the Making: Goldarths Selections 2007
Glashütte Original Senator Rattrapante
A manually wound Caliber 99 movement and a typically high standard of finish from Glashütte Original are the main attractions of the limited edition (100 pieces only) Senator Rattrapante. That, and the split-seconds chronograph "rattrapante" complication, of course. The 42mm case is fashioned from platinum, while the strap is Louisiana crocodile skin. As with all of Glashütte Original's other platinum models, the Senator Rattrapante has an onyx cabochon in the winding crown as a symbol of its exclusivity.
Greubel Forsey Invention Piece 1
The Double Tourbillon 30° was a much-admired watch from the respected pair of watchmakers, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey. To honor this creation, and simultaneously raise the bar further in the field of haute horlogerie, the duo have designed the Invention Piece 1. Still featuring a canted double tourbillon cage, the new design has been refined with a new placement on the dial, within the hour and minute display. All the while, the outer tourbillon cage rotates in a four-minute circle, while the inner one does so in just one minute. The incomparable Invention Piece 1 is available in just three versions of 11 watches each, in red, white, or yellow gold case.
Harry Winston Opus 7 by Andreas Stehler
The Opus line of ultra-limited edition concept watches from Harry Winston has gained a cult following, with enthusiasts awaiting each new installment with baited breath. The Opus 7, after the long wait, does not disappoint. The guest watchmaker behind the Opus 7 is Andreas Strehler, who has endowed the watch with a distinctive geometric, circular motif on the dial. Limited to 50 pieces, Opus 7 is made of white gold and features a novel alternating time display that is activated by pushing the crown.
