Right after the DVD format was adopted in the mid 1990s, Sony immediately started exploring and investing heavily into the development of Blu-ray. Their current flagship Blu-ray player, the BDP-S1E, is expectedly impressive.

Spotting 1920 x 1080 progressive high-definition video, output signal at 24 frames per second and fully AVCHD compatible, this Sony will deliver the best quality images possible on your televison screen today. Audio capabilities are equally impressive with 8 channels of uncompressed linear PCM digital audio output via HDMI and Dolby Digital Plus, with a separate audio circuit board and finely tuned audio components in a rigid beam chassis with drive brackets and off-centre insulator feet.

Sporting an electric blue front panel, you can expect Sony’s characteristic high build quality as well as its new one-touch BRAVIA theatre sync function and full backward compability with DVD, CD, BD-ROM, MP3 audio files, JPEG and DVD recordable media.
