This tres chic French business-class airline flies between Newark and
Paris Orly, carrying mostly 'Paryorkers', its self-coined riff for frequent travellers
commuting between New York and Paris. At the pre-departure lounge, passengers can nibble
on mixed nuts and cheddar cheese while nursing the finest bottled water.
Passengers can expect spacious comfort with the 2-2-2 configuration on board L'avion's
fleet of redesigned Boeing 757s. The cabin's 100 seats are all furnished in leather and fabric,
and in grey and parma hues, reclining up to 140 degrees and providing about four feet of
spacious leg room. There won't be drab in-seat consoles which are seen in traditional business
class; seats have state-of-the-art digEplayers XT™ with eight-inch screens and power
ports from where you can hook up your laptops.
L'avion's cachet lies in the fact that it makes travelling into Orly as handy a hop into
Paris since Orly airport is much nearer to the French capital than Charles de Gaulle.
But another plus is its je ne sais quoi quotient, manifest through the airline's
world-class French cuisine which is served in a four-course meal with stellar wines and champagnes.
Round fares start from US$1,700 and L'avion flies six times a week between New York's Newark and Paris' Orly airport.
