Insects have flitted in and out of designers’ fancies in
seasons past, but Cartier has now immortalized them in white and yellow gold
with their new Jewelled Insects Collection.
All
manner of insects take centre stage in the new whimsical collection; the
delicate exoskeleton of a dragonfly for example, is formed with white gold, and
filled in with diamonds and blue chalcedony.
Diamonds adorn most of the other
charms, rings and earrings in the collection, which also features bees,
beetles, ladybirds, set with precious
stones like sapphires, tsavorite, moonstone, opals, and pearls. The end result
is an exquisitely youthful and colorful collection.
