The culmination of Audi’s Metroproject Quattro, a concept
sub-compact incorporating Audi’s proprietary electric-hybrid powertrain, the A1
Convertible delivers rugged yet refined driving with a healthy dose of fresh
air to its owners.
Clearly designed to compete with the similar MINI Cabriolet,
the two-seater A1 Convertible features a fully descending power top, a
weight-reducing steel and aluminium chassis, and Audi’s own Multi Media
Interface (MMI).
The A1 Convertible is powered by the same 1.4L turbo and
supercharged TSI engine found in the Golf GT Sport, delivering either 140 or
170hp. A 150hp 1.8L turbo unit and a 102hp 1.6L unit will also be available.
Designed and engineered with Audi’s unmistakable flair, the A1 Convertible is
scheduled to debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
