Over the years, American maker of luxury handbags, the
Leiber Company has gained worldwide recognition for their line of crystal
evening bags.
Established in 1963 by Judith Leiber, who studied the craft of
handbag making in Budapest during World War II, the company now has their
handbags on permanent display in many museums around the world, the most
notable being New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Their signature crystal evening bags are embellished
entirely with hand glued Austrian crystals, painstakingly arranged to form
intricate patterns, with designs ranging from the timeless and elegant, to the
quirky and attention grabbing.
The Leiber range of handbags also includes those made
of animal skins and satin. The signature crystal pieces however, retail from
between US$1,295 and US$5,995.
