d-VISION is a design program initiated by Mr. Sami Sagol,
who is chairman of the Israeli conglomerate, The Keter Group. Its aim, as
stated on the program’s official website, is “to foster the next generation of
outstanding industrial designers”.
One of d-VISION’s interesting design concepts is a
computer mouse, that resembles a oddly shaped gaming joystick. Called the “City
Mouse and Village Mouse”, it is supposed to map the intuitive movements of the
user based on how we normally move objects in the real world.
the sleek curves of the computer mouse, like a sculptural
art form, is designed for ergonomic functions other than pure aesthetics.
The
replication of natural movement is expected to reduce the likelihood of muscle
tension and tendon injuries that result from prolonged use, such as repetitive
strain injury (RSI) and carpal tunnel syndrome. Wireless operation will also
allow it to be used from anywhere in the home.
