Abu Dhabi looks set to be the next luxury
hotspot in the United Arab Emirates when word gets out about an idyllic little
isle named Nurai. The beautiful island takes after its name—derived from an
Arabic word “nour” meaning light – with lush foliage, pristine waters, and
spectacular beaches.
Nurai is Abu Dhabi-based real estate company, Zaya’s pilot
venture into luxury residences. Situated northeast of Abu Dhabi, Nurai will be
a sprawling luxury resort and exclusive private community of 60 suites, 31 beachfront
estates and 36 water villas.
Each multi-storey water villa spreads over 515
square metres, has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a rooftop garden with spa
pool, and gourmet kitchen among other facilities.
The seaside residences have
five bedrooms and six bathrooms over a range of 3,000 to 6,050 square metres.
New York-based Studio Dror, led by Dror Benshetrit and Paris-based AW2,
designed the residences and hotel resort respectively.
According to Zaya CEO
Nadia Zaal, Nurai offers “all the services and comforts of a world class
boutique resort” to complement every residence.
Hotel guests can even look
forward to being greeted at a private helipad or marina, and enjoy the comforts
of a fully equipped spa after a long day. Slated for opening in 2010, starting
prices for Nurai’s exquisite residences are €20 million.
