A winning design by New York design house Fxfowle has been
selected by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority to be the latest addition to
the country’s skyline. With work on the project schedule to be completed in
2012, the mile-long, 673-foot tall behemoth will be the largest, tallest arch
bridge in the world.
The bridge, whose design was inspired by the dunes of the
desert, will be the sixth crossing of the Dubai Creek. With 12 lanes of traffic
and a mass rapid transit system running through the center, the $817 million
project is set to be nothing short of a modern architectural marvel.
