Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino has painted the town red,
or at least, their 20,000 sq ft lobby that includes two bars and a banquet
hall.
This effort was part of a total renovation that cost the
luxury hotel in San Juan a total of $65 million over a three-year revamp.
Other than the multi-purpose lobby redesign where city sleekness meets Latino
fever, the resort also redid the famed Manhattan steak house – the Strip House.
The Strip House also received a generous dash of Latino
flavor, swathed in luscious reds of silk, velvet and leather, complete with a
well-stocked bar and a breathtaking wine cellar.
The man that turned inspiration to life is none other than
New York architect David Rockwell, whose firm have produced award-winning works
for many projects, including 13 Tony Award nominations for the set design of Hairspray the musical.
Designer Leo A. Daly on the other hand redid the hotel’s 570
rooms parallel to Rockwell’s visual heaven with his use of clever color combinations
and attention to detail for effortless style.
Guests can also enjoy one of the largest casinos San Juan
has to offer, as well as other services including a 24-hour redesigned
state-of-the-art-gym and exquisitely maintained tennis courts.
