Cirrus’ The-Jet is a seven-seater single-engine jet that is
conceived as an owner-flown aircraft. Though production has not begun, mockups
of the aircraft are currently doing the rounds in various cities, across the
globe, beginning with Cannes last week.
The-Jet will be made of alloys and
composite material. It has a cockpit made of glass, and a two-door facility
like a coupe. In case of emergency, there is a parachute located in the nose of
the plane.
According to the company, The-Jet can climb up to more than 7,500
meters (or 25,000 feet), and traverse the skies at 555 km/h (or 345 mph), with
a range slightly above 1,600 km (or 1,000 miles). Cirrus is taking US$100,000
for The Jet, with delivery slated for 2011.
