Italian TV manufacturer Brionvega has achieved a measure of
cult status with their edgy TV sets. Their latest offering, the Brionvega Alpha
is said to have been inspired by the works of Le Corbustier, Breur, Mies and
Eileen Gray.
With chrome tube framing its 19-inch LCD screen, it has a
display with 1280 x 1024 resolution, 160-degree viewing angles and a contrast
ratio of 1200:1. This futuristic piece also comes with a DVD-player built into
its unconventional base, a refreshing change from the usual supporting
pedestal.
The remote, made of die-cast aluminum instead of the usual
metallized plastic, reflects the minimalist design of the television set.
Unfortunately, the set does not include a digital tuner and is not yet
HD-ready.
