With the current climate of increasing concerns over global
warming, more companies are coming up with innovative products that carry an
eco-friendly tag. Whirlpool Europe is the latest to add its name to this
growing list of contributors with their GREENKITCHEN eco-friendly concept.
Whirlpool claims that its GREENKITCHEN concept cuts energy
consumption by 50 percent and could slash your energy bill by up to 70 percent.
To achieve this, the GREENKITCHEN diverts up to 60 percent
of the water and heat generated from appliances to power others.
For example, heat produced by the fridge compressor is used
to heat the water in the dishwasher. Instead of a normal cabinet design, the
fridge is a pullout "drawer". This design traps the cold air inside the drawer
instead of letting it "slip out" every time the door is opened.
The multi-function kitchen hood not only removes all those
unwanted oily fumes, it also measures the temperature and humidity of the air
passing through its filters for climate control in the kitchen.
Whirlpool has also introduced an energy-efficient storage
space that is maintained at cellar temperature, ideal for keeping vegetables
and fruits fresh for longer periods of time.
With these innovations, you could soon be doing your part
for a greener Earth with your own GREENKITCHEN.
