Fueled
by imagination, the Peugeot Moovie is a stunning design from 23-year-old
Portuguese designer André Costa – the product of the first major concept car
design contest held online.
The
Peugeot Design Contest 2007 winner said he specifically wanted to move away
from the fringe of mass production models. And that he did, by replacing the
conventional four-wheeled car with two hubless wheels that double up in
steering and driving.
Independently
driven by an electric motor, the wheels are also independent on its own axis
for high maneuverability. The two small additional front wheels act as
stabilizers. Acknowledging future concerns, the electric car is environmentally
friendly and compact, measuring 2.3 meters (7.6 ft) wide and 1.5 meters (4.9
ft) high.
Bubble-like
with more glass than metal to its frame, the car’s forward sliding doors scream
futuristic. Its interior follows through on modern flow with seats and
dashboard of minimalist designs.
The
Peugeot Moovie concept car has already made international impact at both the
Frankfurt and Geneva Motor Show, making the future of this young man, who
hasn't even finished college yet very bright indeed.
