Last year at BaselWorld, Breitling presented a true
take-it-or-leave-it proposition in their Superocean Heritage watch, which
though a real departure from their current aesthetics, is a very real part of
the brand’s history.
In fact, its credentials are boosted by the fact that it
is a diver’s watch, making the relative simplicity of the dial and such a true
measure of professional performance, a Breitling hallmark.
This year, Breitling
follows up with an automatic chronograph in this same line. At 46mm, this steel
behemoth is certainly no wallflower and can withstand depths of up to 200
meters. As with last year’s model, this one also sports the unidirectional
bezel vital for all divers.
Of course, the chronograph is a complication with
historical significance for the brand so it is fitting that it finds a home
here. It is as robust as Breitling chronographs usually are.
