Grandhotel Zlatý Lev celebrates 102 years of tradition in Liberec, the largest city of the Liberec Region in the Czech Republic. Designed by architect Anton Worf at the start of the 20th century, the hotel displays elaborate art-nouveau floral decorations paired with a rich stucco façade.

Over the years, the hotel has enjoyed the patronage of aristocrats and dignitaries like Antonín Novotný and Ludvík Svoboda. With this art-nouveau monument's great historical value in mind, CPI Hotels, the exclusive representative of international hotel chain Choice Hotels, was proud to announce its addition to their portfolio.

CPI Hotels has plans to restore original architectural elements like the hotel entrance’s art-nouveau canopy, and connect the current building to an adjacent building to increase room capacity.

After a complete facelift, the Grandhotel Zlatý Lev will be renamed the Clarion Grandhotel Zlatý Lev. According to Jan Kratina from CPI Hotels, "the planned modifications should be completed before the Nordic World Ski Championships are held in 2009". CPI Hotels estimates that the total cost of renovations will amount to 60 million crowns.
