London's
largest annual event, the Collins Stewart London Boat Show, is into its 54th run this year with over 500
exhibitors. It will run from 11-20 January at ExCel London, situated beside the
Canary Wharf and City Airport.
The show will showcase
several boat launches from a multitude of international brands. One such brand
is Jeanneau, a French shipyard which created the first all-fibreglass boat in
the 1960s. Jeanneau presents the much-anticipated world premiere of the
Prestige 38 S on 12 January.
The Prestige 38 S is a stylish power boat designed
by Garroni Designers, with a hull developed by renowned American designer
Michael Peters. Its unique features include an avant-garde deck layout with two
cockpits – the first is fitted beneath the sport top around a table, and the
second is unconventionally located on the aft deck.
The latter's location
offers users the flexibility of converting it into a sun bathing deck, or even a
cosy cockpit around a second table. The interior consists of two cabins with a big
saloon and a spacious dressing room.
For the
first time in the Show's history, the HMS Exeter; a Royal Navy Destroyer that extends up to a
maximum length of 141m (462.5ft), will be anchored just outside the exhibition
premises at the Royal Victoria Dock, open
to visitors throughout the show.
