Following hot on the heels of the
M3 Convertible comes the BMW 1-Series Convertible. Offering top-down fun in
BMW’s most compact range, this new car sports BMW’s new gen design aesthetic,
with its muscular wheel arches and sculpted panels.
The soft top roof opens and closes
within 22 seconds. The roof may also be opened at speeds of up to 50 km/h, which
is nearly always in city traffic. An optional roof variant in Anthracite with
sewn-in gloss seams providing an interchanging silver effect in
sunlight.
Billed as the first premium
convertible in the compact segment, the 1 Series Convertible sports high-quality
interior trim and upholstery with a wide range of colours and materials. Highly
variable use ensured by optional through-loading including transport bag. The
trunk will accommodate two golf bags or two snowboards also when the roof is
open.
BMW rear-wheel drive is the
standard as well as the obligatory choice of turbodiesel and petrol
engines
The ranger topper BMW 135i
Convertible has as standard the modified M Aerodynamics Package and M Sports
Suspension, a 2979 cc engine pushing out an impressive 206 hp. As it is only
115 kg/254 lb heavier than its Coupé sibling, it can still accelerate from
0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds.
