BMW’s much loved M3 series has a new member of the family – the M3
Convertible. After the Coupe and the Saloon, the Convertible offers top-down
driving with the excellent road-holding and performance that motorheads crave
for.
The same 4-litre V8 powerplant in the other M3 variants powers the
Convertible, accelerating the car to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. With 420 bhp, the
engine’s maximum torque of 400n/M is delivered at 3,900 rpm, for smooth power
delivery all the way to redline.
The styling remains aggressive, with the power bulge on its bonnet,
flared wheel arches, contoured M-side sills and the distinctive
quad-tailpipes.
The three-piece retractable hardtop in steel does add obvious weight to
the package, but as far as compact performance convertibles go, the M3
convertible will still catapault to the wishlists of car lovers everywhere.
