Shelby SuperCars' (SSC) Ultimate Aero has officially left its tracks in the Guinness World Records as the "fastest production car" in the world. Clocking an average speed of 412.28 km/h, eclipsing the current record held by the Koenigsegg CCR at 388 km/h, and the Bugatti Veyron's unofficial record of 408.47 km/h.
The amazing feat was accomplished on a stretch of highway 221 in rural Washington State. Its twin turbo V8 engine shells out an incredible 1,183 bhp and 1,094 ft-lbs of torque. While SSC claims this red devil will still remain surprisingly stable at speeds up to 439 km/h, prospective owners may not be too concerned. After all, they have already acquired their bragging rights.
