The tourbillon cage and bridges are made from T5 titanium, since it is ultra-lightweight and lends itself to hand-finishing better than other grades of titanium or aluminum. Why is it that the tourbillon cage should be light? Think of it this way: the tourbillon cage (including the complete escapement) must stop and start several times per second. In this case, whereby the Master Tourbillon must start and stop eight times per second, lighter is certainly better!
