The automatic winding rotor is made of 21K gold and rotates on zirconium ball bearings .

Zirconium is a super hard man-made material that is almost impervious to wear. Most conventional auto-winding rotors are suspended on steel ball bearings which are more prone to wear, and require lubrication that over time will congeal and thus retard efficiency. Zirconium bearings allow more efficient winding and less wear. Notably, no lubrication is needed.
